design & painting

advanced drawing series

This is a series of 3 drawings that includes screenprinting, stenciling, and drawings done in charcoal on 38" x 50" paper. This series mainly focused on experimentation of color, repetition of patterns, and creating dynamic compositions within each piece.

grandma & gramps screenprint

Here is a screenprint that consists of 4 color seperations. This project contained a strong sense of contrast between the classic picture my grandparents and the vivid, Pop art inspired color scheme.

raincoat design

illustrator; acrylic ink on fabric

The first part of this project consisted of creating a pattern from a letterform. I sectioned off a part of the letter, so one could barely tell that it was an A. I experimented with different patterns, until I came up with this one.

The 2nd part was to cover an object with the pattern. My pattern reminded me of rain coming down a window or a raincoat. I sketched ideas of how I pictured my raincoat. The front and the back have the pattern going down it. The hood and the sleeves have details of the pattern.

political poster

24" x 36"; illustrator ; font: helvetica

This poster communicates body positivity and positivity in general. The media has expressed many times that only people with certain body types, sizes, clothes, etc., are happy or beautiful. This poster is to be bold and show strength in who you are and what you have. Beauty and happiness comes in many ways and you do not have to change for anyone.

This poster is something people can interact with and create an emotional connection with it. I wanted the large negative space to help with emphasizing the words and allowing that to be the focal point.

magazine covers

8.5" x 11" ; illustrator

I created the magazine ,Mode., which is a fashion, textile, and living magazine, that is contemporary and filled with today's top designers. The 1st cover was a typical layout with a modern spin on it. The 2nd one had an unusual composition with all the information in the middle. This cover was more experimental and has a fun and energetic feel, which is what Mode. magazine is all about.

letterpress

The 1st project I did at WNYBAC was a calling card. I got to explore the huge selection of font and type. I chose a blocky and bold styled type.

The 2nd thing I created at WNYBAC was a greeting card. I started off with small quote and added 3 minimalistic Christmas trees to create a complete composition.
